ABOUT THE PROJECT

As part of our humanitarian response to the vulnerable situation experienced by thousands of Venezuelan families in Peru, this cash transfer intervention seeks to help families continue their journey, settle down or obtain food. The project expects to cover five regions of the country: Lima, Lambayeque, Piura, La Libertad and Arequipa.

Research shows that providing money to families is often the most efficient and effective way to help them. Families know what they need most, and cash transfers give them the freedom and flexibility to pay for those things. At the time of distribution of the cash transfers, Save the Children contacts the families to provides them with information about nutrition and protection from violence. It also provides Child Friendly Spaces where children can play in a safe environment under the supervision of qualified staff.
